SQL Database Administrator
The Database Analyst is an aspiring DBA interested in working in a fast paced environment with seasoned DBAs and has an ability to quickly learn and support both Oracle and SQL databases for production, testing, and development environments. The ideal candidate will become part of a team responsible for the complete life cycle of Oracle and SQL database administration and maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: database and storage planning, database installation and implementation, maintenance coordination, configuration management and general day-to-day database administration. ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES Install, validate, and support the application databases in our hosted environments Ensure production level databases are running at all times and have multiple levels of redundancy to meet committed SLAs Manages databases for performance, reliability, redundancy, and scale Document processes and procedures and keep environment topology documentation current Write and develop scripts for automating repetitive tasks and making configuration changes Identification and resolution of software or database problems in any database supported by team, especially production instances Analyzing system errors or anomalies as well as specific database performance bottlenecks, recommend suitable fixes in order to ensure maximum uptime and service quality; identify trends that may eventually result in degradation of service quality Creating and maintaining automation scripts to capture database security threats, unauthorized access, DDL and DML activity in production databases Working with other team members to push patches, new releases and database features through SDLC Providing on-call support for any database operations/activity 24x7x365. *Requirements:* KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ABILITIES Undergraduate degree in related discipline (IS/CS degree preferred) 3+ year of professional or educational hands-on experience with database and server technologies. Experience in Unix Shell and scripting Experience in managing remote stand-by databases; database backup and recovery.
